Hate to rain on your parade but a decent small combo amp ( Boogie etc.) would be preferable for live use - using sims, or pods or even Axe FX/Kemper adds a lot of hassle live - most small venues barely have a functioning monitoring system and, even when they do, most of that will be dedicated to your singer, leaving you with a precarious monitoring situation at best. A DI box maybe? Anyone have any experience with it? I'd also have my Pod HD500 as a backup if anything goes wrong.Bias is about to release an amp head - you may want to look into that as well. But I already own Bias FX for desktop and I was wondering.Maybe I should just use Bias live too? I guess that I'd need a laptop or an iPad or something, but apart from that.I don't know. So my plan was to get a Kemper or a Axe Fx. I don't want a "real" amp as they are kind of heavy (I'm lazy) and since I don't have that much money I want something that I'll also be able to use when I record at home. So, I'm in metal band and I need something to play live.

Before start this hourney just try to download OBS Studio and make sure you computer and eligible to stream/record. My suggestion in this case is: OBS STUDIO + 2 GoPros + 2 Cam Links (Mini HDMI to HDMI Cables* Please verify) + Microfone to capture voice/instrument.īTW very important in here. If you do have 2 GoPro cameras, just buy the CAM LINKS (and the right HDMI cables) and start producing. This particular tool will help you to switch between scenes, sourcers, cameras, layers, activate/deactivate audio, effects. That will be completely up to you! Also to switch between cameras OBS provides support to Elgato Stream Deck ( amazing tool). This camera is cheap and you don't need to buy 2 CAM LINKS. On my studio I have just 1 for my DSLR camera (main camera) and I use a Logitech G c922 (USB Camera) to get a different angle. You'll need one for each GoPro (if you decide to use 2 GoPros). They have both 1080 or 4K (I suggest 1080). Elgato has this amazing product (which I personally love) called CAM LINK.

The trick behind using GoPros or DSLR cameras is how to capture the image on OBS Studio including microfone and everything else to either broadcast or record your class.
